  • Portugal beat Armenia 5-0 in the teams’ opening Group F match of the UEFA qualifiers for the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
  • The match was played at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan, Armenia, where Portugal took a 3-0 lead in the first half.
  • Portugal lifted the Nations League trophy in June, beating Spain 5-3 on penalties in the final, and are only entering the World Cup qualifiers at this stage as a result.
